Keyboards

Tony Marriott was born and raised in Washington DC. He started playing music in junior high school. He was classically trained on the flute in the DC Youth Orchestra program. Starting as a beginner, he eventually ascended to first chair flute in his senior year of high school performing with the orchestra at such venues as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Constitution Hall. By this point, he had expanded is musicial interests onto several other instruments including electric bass, acoustic/electric guitar, saxophone, and eventually keyboards which is now his main instrument of choice. Tony also pursued his singing talents as a baritone with the DC Youth Chorale. Because of his sight reading skills he was asked in High School to sing with Howard Univerities Chorale when they debuted Alvin Ailey's Ceremony of Spirituals at Carnegie Hall and later when they performed it at President Carter's Inaugural event at the Kennedy Center.

He moved to the Northern California Bay Area in the early '80s to pursue a engineering career with Hewlett Packard (currently CEO/President of Anmar, Inc computer firm) but has continued to pursue his musicial interests.

His musical tastes vary widely and include Jazz, Funk, R&B/Soul, Pop, and Classical, and Gospel. He has played with a wide variety of groups including B-4 Dawn R&B Band, Rejoice Gospel Ensemble, and the Palo Alto Symphony orchestra.

In addition to being the keyboardist for "Too Smooth", he often plays for various church-related events, as well as freelances providing keyboards/sound for weddings, receptions, banquets, studio recordings, and other similar engagements. He is also currently the music director for the Unity Church of Silicon Valley.

Tony currently lives in San Jose with his lovely wife Deborah. The name of his music company based out of San Jose is "Sounds By Tony".
